Boston is one of the most picturesque cities in the United States. It’s charming, quaint, clean and has stories woven throughout from the historical events that have taken place here. It’s no wonder that it’s consistently rated one of the top cities in America to visit by Travel & Leisure.
But beyond it’s natural beauty, are some really beautiful pieces of manmade art – from murals to outdoor recreational spaces, the arts in Boston are alive and well!
And here’s the thing – -these days, if you don’t ‘gram it, you didn’t do it. So, here are some of my favorite Instagrammable spots in and around Boston.
1 Moraine Street, Jamaica Plain (CVS)
You can find this beauty right across the street from one of JP’s chicest, hipster spots – Canary Square.
Government Center Plaza, Boston (“The Patios”)
“The Patios” popped up on the plaza at Government Center for the first time this past Spring, offering up local craft beer, wine and snacks. The outdoor bar and hang space just closed for the season a few weeks ago, but is expected back at the first sign of Spring 2019!
2 Union Sq., Somerville, MA (Urban Axes)
As part of the newly launched street art initiative by the Somerville Arts Council, this massive mural is a show stopper. Running along the outside of Urban Axes, Boston’s new favorite indoor activity, there’s no chance that you’ll miss this piece if you’re traveling down Somerville Ave.
1417 Centre Street, West Roxbury, MA (Yucatan Tacos)
This beautiful, cultural scene straight out of Mexico is on the side of a fast casual Mexican restaurant called Yucatan Tacos – a hidden gem nestled in the West Roxbury/Roslindale neighborhood.
565 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA (Graffiti Alley)

Located just north of the city in Cambridge, Graffiti Alley is one of the city’s most eclectic and vibrant spots. Splashes of color from hot pink to electric blue run into all sorts of shapes – big and small, making it the perfect Instagrammable spot.
680 Legacy Place, Dedham, MA (Legacy Place)

Pastels and positivity are plastered over some old garage-style doors at Legacy Place, just inviting people to stop and snap!
420 D Street, South Boston (The Lawn on D)

Straight up made to be photographed, The Lawn On D, which offers a plethora of live entertainment, games, food and booze, is an awesome outdoor space that’s designed to essentially be an adult playground. While there aren’t as many scheduled events during the winter months, the space is still open to the public. Come Summer, get ready for daily activities and weekly special events!
2 Boylston Street, Jamaica Plain (Zesto’s Pizza & Grille)
This Aztec-inspired piece is kitty-corner from the piece that’s next to Canary Square in JP (see above!), so while you’re out ‘gramming that one, make sure to look across the street to catch this beaut!
Have you ‘grammed any of the spots yet? Plan to? Make sure to tag me – @CourtneyOsgood! Can’t wait to see what you create!
