When I visit a new city I like to experience it like the locals do. Rarely do I opt to visit/experience a tourist attraction, frankly because I know it’s just that! I’d much rather walk like the locals, talk like the locals and play like the locals – it’s way more fun.

Before launching this blog, I was asked why. Why did I want to start a blog? The answer was an easy one, and one that I’ve thought about for a very long time.
I want to tell the stories that don’t often get told; the stories behind the people and businesses that are keeping our local communities alive and vibrant.
So, given that this will be filled with many short stories, I thought it was only fitting that I start with mine.
